The official put the total value of the imports into the country during the said time span at $26.8 billion, while the value of exports was reported to be $25.1 billion.   …   …   Iran's top five non-oil export destinations during this period were China with $6.4 billion worth of exports, Iraq with $5.9 billion, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with over $3.3 billion, Turkey with $1.8 billion, and Afghanistan with $1.7 billion. Meanwhile, the country’s top five sources of imports during this period were China with $7 billion, the UAE with $6.3 billion, Turkey with $3 billion, India with $1.6 billion, and Germany with $1.6 billion worth of imports.  Some 5.2 million tons of commodities were also transited to other countries through Iran, 10.9 percent less than the figure for the same period in the previous year, Mir-Ashrafi said. Like all other countries around the world, Iran’s trade with its foreign partners has been affect­ted by the coronavirus pandemic, however, the situation is getting back to normal and the coun­try’s trade is reaching its pre-pandemic levels.

EU27-Iran Foreign Trade from January till October 2020 generated 3,641 mil­li­on Euro.

The 27 EU coun­­­tries (without the United Kingdom) exported goods worth € 2,460 million Euro to Iran and imported goods worth € 496 million. Germany was the most important EU trade partner of Iran, with a trade vol­ume of 1,450 million Euro, fol­lowed by Italy (560 million Euro) and the Ne­ther­lands (409 mil­lion Euro).

The European Union (EU27) export of goods to Iran in the first ten month of the year 2020 stood at 3.036 mill­i­on Euro, a de­crea­se of 16% com­­pared to the first ten month of the year 2019. Ac­cor­ding to the la­test da­ta by Euro­stat, the sta­tis­tical of­fice of the European Union, 40% of the EU ex­­ports to Iran ca­me from Ger­­­many, that de­­­li­ve­red goods worth € 1.227 million, that was 1% mo­re than from January till October 2019. Second (16%) was Italy with ex­ports worth € 475 mil­­li­on (-30%), fol­lowed by the Ne­ther­­­lands (€ 299 million, -26%).

From January till October 2020 the 27 EU countries imported goods worth € 605 million from Iran (+7%).  Most of the Iranian ex­ports to the Eu­­ro­pean Union (37%) go to Germany, which im­ported goods worth 223 mil­­lion from Iran (+38%), fol­­lowed by the Netherlands  (€ 110 million, +384%)  and Italy (€85 million, -37%).

Euro).Die iranischen Liefe­run­gen nach Deutschland im Berichtszeitraum setz­ten sich u.a. zu­sam­­men aus geniessbaren Früch­­­­­­­ten und Nüssen im Wert von 106 Mio. Eu­­ro, ande­ren Waren tie­­ri­schen Ur­­­­­­s­prungs (Häu­te und Schafs­­därme) (29 Mio. Eu­ro), pharma­zeu­­ti­schen Er­zeugnis­sen (27 Mio. Eu­ro), Schellack, Gummen, Harz, Pflanzensaft (14 Mio. Euro) sowie Teppi­chen (13 Mio. Euro).

Financial Tribune  03.12.20:   The National Coronavirus Taskforce moved 96 cities across the country, including the capital Tehran, from the alert level “red” to “orange”, as restrictive measures introduced since last month began to reduce infections. “Over the past two weeks, the number of red cities has declined from 160 to 64,” Hossein Zolfaqari, the head of the Social and Security Committee of taskforce, was quoted as saying by IRNA on Wednesday. Tehran is among the list of cities that have changed status from red to orange, which means starting Saturday, most non-essential businesses can resume operations and only universities, schools, gyms, beauty salons, museums, wedding halls, zoos and the like are closed. Social events remain banned.

Zolfaqari said, “From now on, the status of coronavirus transmission in cities will be announced on Mondays and localized lockdown disciplines will adapt to the changes on Saturdays.” The task­force has also made alterations to the three-tier level of restrictions imposed depending on the extent of virus transmissions. According to Zolfaqari, the 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. curfew will now be enforced in both red and orange cities from Saturday for one week. Tehran’s nighttime curfew and the presence of one-third of employees in government offices will continue for at least another week. The stringent measures have reduced city movements by 30% in the past two weeks.

Home Gatherings

Home gatherings are one of the main reasons behind virus transmission, Alireza Zali, the head of Tehran’s Coronavirus Taskforce, told IRNA. “This undoubtedly plays an important role in the city of Tehran. I ask residents to be careful about holding gatherings.” The nightly curfew placed on red and orange cities can dissuade many from organizing or attending in-home gatherings. Ac­cording to Zali, the police has handed out fines to 33,000 vehicles entering Tehran and to 25,000 cars breaking curfew rules. Travel to and from red and orange cities is prohibited in Iran and violators are penalized.

“The total number of coronavirus infections climbed to 989,000 on Wednesday, up by 13,600 compared to a day earlier,” Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said. “Over the past 24 hours, 362 Covid-19 patients lost their lives and the death toll rose to 48,990,” she added. Lari noted that over 688,000 have recovered from the infectious disease and 5,820 are in cri­tical condition. Iran has administered some 6.2 million diagnostic tests since the start of the pandemic. The coronavirus pandemic has taken nearly 1.5 million lives and infected 64.3 million worldwide.
