The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first seven month of the year 1403 (started March 20). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Mehr) stood at 33.6%, down from 34.2% in the month before. 

In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “housing incl. water, gas, electricity, etc.’” with 40.35 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services; followed by “education and training“  with 34.5%. Food and beverages were 26.0% more expensive in the month of Mehr than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 271.8 indicating a 31.6% rise compared to the same month of the year before.

Wegen der anhaltenden Kämpfe im Nahen Osten hat die Lufthansa-Gruppe weitere Flüge in die Re­gion gestrichen. Die Verbindungen in die libanesische Hauptstadt Beirut bleiben bis einschließlich 28. Februar 2025 ausgesetzt, wie das Unternehmen in Frankfurt für all seine Gesellschaften mitteilte. Die iranische Hauptstadt Teheran wird zunächst bis einschließlich 31. Januar 2025 nicht angeflogen.

 

Eurostat: EU27-Iran foreign trade in January to August 2024 generated 3,106 million Euro (+2%). The 27 EU coun­tries ex­por­ted goods worth € 2,545 million Euro (+2%) to Iran and impor­ted goods worth 561 million Euro (+5%). Ger­­many was the most important EU trade partner of Iran, with a trade volume of 1023 million Euro, followed by Italy (473 million Euro) and the Ne­therlands (413 mil­li­on Euro).

The European Union (EU27) export of goods to Iran in the first eight month of the year 2024 stood at 2,545 mil­lion Euro, an increase of 2% compared to January till Augus 2023. Accor­ding to the latest data by Eurostat, the sta­­tis­tical office of the European Union, 34% of the EU exports to Iran came from Germany that de­livered goods worth 875 million Euro, that was 15% more than in the first eight month of the year 2023. Second (15%) were the Netherlands with exports worth 377 million Euro (+9%) fol­lowed by Italy (343 million Euro, -11%), Belgium (208 million Euro, +4%) and France (173 million Euro, -11%).

From January to August 2024 the 27 EU countries imported goods worth 561 million Euro from Iran (+5%). Most of the Ira­nian exports to the European Union (26%) went to Germany, which im­ported goods worth 148 million Euro from Iran (-12%), followed by Italy (130 million Euro, +29%) and Spain (53 million Euro, -3%). 

Von Januar bis August 2024 erreichte der deutsch-iranische Außenhandel einen Wert von 1033  Millionen Euro und lag damit im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum 10% höher. Deutsch­land lieferte Waren im Wert von 875 Millionen Euro (+15%); die iranischen Liefe­run­gen nach Deutschland fielen um 10% auf 158 Mio. Euro.  

Wichtigste Warengruppen bei den deutschen Lieferungen nach Iran von Januar bis August 2024 waren Ma­schinen, Apparate und mechanische Geräte (280 Mio. Euro), phar­ma­zeutische Erzeugnisse (158 Mio. Euro),  optische, photo­gra­fische usw. Erzeugnisse (119 Mio. Euro), gefolgt von elektrotechnischen Erzeugnissen (49 Mio. Euro) sowie verschiedenen Erzeugnissen der Chemischen Industrie (47 Mio. Euro).

Die iranischen Lieferungen nach Deutschland in den ersten acht Monaten des Jahres 2024 setz­ten sich u.a. zusammen aus ge­niessbaren Früch­ten und Nüssen im Wert von 63 Mio. Euro, ande­ren Waren tierischen Ursprungs (Häute und Schafsdärme, 26 Mio. Euro), phar­mazeutischen Erzeugnissen (17 Mio Euro), Tep­pichen (11 Mio. Euro) sowie Schellack, Gummen, Harz, Pflanzensaft (10 Mio. Euro) und Perlen, Edel­stei­nen, Edel­­metallen (6 Mio. Euro).

TEHRAN-TIMES:   Foreign ministers of the European Union have approved a fresh round of sancti­ons targeting seven Iranian individuals and seven entities, accusing Tehran of supplying ballistic mis­siles to Russia for use in the Ukraine conflict.

Among those hit by the sanctions are prominent Iranian airlines, officials linked to the country’s de­fen­se sector, and key military figures. The sanctions list includes Iran's flagship airline, Iran Air, as well as Saha Airlines and Mahan Air, which have been accused of involvement in the alleged missile trans­fers. High-ranking officials, such as Seyyed Hamzeh Ghalandari, Iran's Deputy Defense Minister, and key figures in the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), were also named. Addi­tionally, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters and the IRGC Aerospace Force are subject to the sanctions. The EU’s measures also target the managing directors of the Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA) and the Aerospace Industries Organization (AIO), both key players in Iran’s defense industry.
