Iran-EU Trade in January 2022 reach 357 Million Euro

Eurostat: EU27-Iran Foreign trade in January 2022 generated 357 million Euro.

The 27 EU countries exported goods worth € 287 million Euro (+26%) to Iran and imported goods worth € 70 million (+49%). Germany was the most important EU trade partner of Iran, with a trade volume of 131 million Euro, followed by Austria (42 million Euro) and the Netherlands (37 million Euro).

The European Union (EU27) export of goods to Iran in January 2022 stood at 287 million Euro, an increase of 26% compared to January 2021. According to the latest data by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, 38% of the EU exports to Iran came from Germany that delivered goods worth € 108 million, that was 13% more than in January 2021. Second (14%) was Austria with exports worth € 41 million (660%), followed by the Netherlands (€ 32 million, +11%) and Italy (€ 25 million, -21%).

In January 2022 the 27 EU countries imported goods worth € 70 million from Iran (+49%). Most of the Iranian exports to the European Union (34%) went to Germany, which imported goods worth 23 million from Iran (+33%), followed by Italy (€ 14 million, +81%), Bulgaria (€ 6 million, +259%), the Netherlands (€ 5 million, +161%) and Romania (€ 5 million, +125%).

Deutsch-Iranischer Außenhandel im Januar 2022

Im Januar 2022 erreichte der deutsch-iranische Außenhandel einen Wert von 133 Millionen Euro und lag damit im Vergleich zum Vorjahreszeitraum 17% höher. Deutschland lieferte Waren im Wert von 108 Millionen Euro (13%); die iranischen Lieferungen nach Deutschand lagen mit 25 Mio. Euro 37% höher als im Vorjahreszeitraum.

Wichtigste Warengruppen bei den deutschen Lieferungen nach Iran im Januar 2022 waren Getreide (32 Mio. Euro), pharmazeutische Erzeugnissen (14 Mio. Euro), Maschinen, Apparate und mechanische Geräte (12 Mio. Euro), verschiedene Erzeugnisse der chemischen Industrie (8 Mio. Euro), gefolgt von optischen, photografischen usw. Erzeugnissen (6 Mio. Euro), Tabak (5 Mio. Euro) sowie elektrotechnischen Erzeugnissen (4 Mio. Euro)

Die iranischen Lieferungen nach Deutschland im Jahr 2021 setzten sich u.a. zusammen aus geniessbaren Früchten und Nüssen im Wert von 11 Mio. Euro, anderen Waren tierischen Ursprungs (Häute und Schafsdärmen, 3 Mio. Euro), pharmazeutischen Erzeugnissen (3 Mio Euro), sowie Teppichen (2 Mio. Euro).

Minimum Wages to Rise 57.4% in Fiscal 2022-23

Financial Tribune: Minimum wages will rise by 57.4% in the new Iranian year (starting March 21), says Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Hojjatollah Abdolmaleki. “A worker with two children will receive at least 67.25 million rials [$261] [per month] next year, indicating a 53.7% increase compared with the current year. A 3.3-member household’s minimum wage will be 64.33 million rials [$250] in 2022-23, which is 24 million rials [$93] more than the current year’s,” he was quoted as saying by Dolat.ir. The official noted that the absolute purchasing power of workers will be 9% more than the inflation rate and the increase in workers’ income will result in more productivity and demand, and consequently help the economy. “As per the decision made in the latest meeting of Supreme Labor Council, which lasted for 14 hours, a worker’s monthly food coupon was set at 8.5 million rials ($33) and the housing allowance at 6.5 million rials ($25).

Workers of other pay levels [above the minimum] will see a rise of 38%,” he said.

Clocks in Iran to move forward by one hour

IRNA - Clocks are to be moved forward by one hour at midnight on Monday (March 21).

According to the legislation passed by the Iranian Parliament (Majlis) in 2007, the official time of the country is turned forward one hour every year at midnight on March 21. The official time of Iran is also turned back one hour every year at midnight on September 22 as the Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins.

The Office for Iranian Vice-President for Legal Affairs said that considering that the parliament's decision not to change Iran’s official time has not been finalized and legalized, the government is obliged to implement the existing law and the official time of the country will be changed at the beginning of the new year.

Iran’s Non-Oil Trade More than $90 b in the First Eleven Month

The latest statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) shows that Iran’s foreign trade volume in the first eleven month of the Iranian year 1400 (Mar.21- Feb. 19) has reached $90.094 billion, that is 38% more than in the first eleven month of 1399.

The volume of exports of non-oil goods (excluding crude oil, fuel oil and kerosene and also without considering exports of luggage trade) in the first eleven month valued at $43.517 billion (+40%). China ($12,634 million), Irak (8,222), Turkey ($5,607 million), the United Arab Emirates ($4,230 million),and Afghanistan ($ 1.655 million) were Iran’s five major export destinations, which accounted for 74% in total.

Iran imported goods valued at $46.577 billion (+36%) in the first eleven month of the Iranian year 1400. Accordingly, the United Arab Emirates ($ 14,566 million), China ($ 11,105 million), Turkey ($ 4,703 million), Germany ($ 1.642 million) and Switzerland ($ 1.477 million) together exported $33.493 billion (72%) worth of products to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the same period.
