Consumer Price Inflation at 38.8%
The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first month of the year 1403 (started March 20). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Farvardin) stood at 38.8%, down from 40.7% in the month before.
In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 45.6 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services; ‘housing incl. Water, gas, electricity, etc.’ 40.7% and food and beverages were 23.6% more expensive in the month of Farvardin than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 236,3 indicating a 30.9% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
