The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the sixth month of the year 1405 (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annual inflation for the month under review (Shahrivar) increased to 73.6%, marking a 3.7 percent increase from the previous month, In terms of point to point CPI rise, ‘tobacco products’ with 162.7% saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services; followed by furniture with 124.6%, telephone and internet with 122.7% and “food and beverages“ with 121.1%. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 729.8, reflecting a 4.2 percent rise compared to the previous month and a 89.8% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
