TEHRAN (FNA)- Managing-Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) Mohammad Hossein Dajmar downplayed the effects of the recent western sanctions against the country, and said Tehran is not concerned about marine transportation of goods from or to its ports.
"We have no concerns and we can cover the transportation of the needed goods like before," Dajmar told FNA on Wednesday when asked about the effects of the recent western sanctions against Iran's shipping and sea transportation. He said despite the fact that Iranian ships cannot sail to the European coasts, "we are fully covering Iran's trade with the Far East". Dajmar also assured Iranian export and import companies that the new western sanctions will not cause any increase in prices for carrying their goods to or from the country.
