According to the latest statistics of Iran Customs Administration, the value of foreign trade exceeded 35 billion and 817 million dollars during the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2016).
Based on the report of the public relations office of Iran customs, during the five months of current year, 19 billion and 108 million dollars of non oil goods were exported from the country which increased by 10.22 percent compared to the figures of the previous year which was 17 billion and 336 million dollars. Based on this report, the imports of our country reached 16 billion and 709million dollars showing a fall of 2.85 percent in comparison.
During the period under consideration, the main export items consisted of gas condensate with value of 3 billion and 270 million dollars , liquefied natural gases with value of 1 billion and 940 million dollars, petroleum gases and liquefied hydrocarbon gases with 693 million dollars, light oils and products except gasoline with 586 million dollars and liquefied propane with 574 million dollars. Moreover during the mentioned period, 7 billion and 462 million dollars of petrochemical products were exported which indicates a growth of 25.03 percent compared to the figures of the same period of the previous year.
The report further reveals that during the 5 months of current Iranian year ( started on March 21, 2016), rice with value of 476million dollars, corn for feeding animals with 417 million dollars, soy bean with 413 million dollars, separate parts and segments for passenger car manufacturing with 349 million dollars and different kinds of vehicles with 284 million dollars formed the main import items.
During the period under study, China with allocation of 3 billion and 405 million dollars , UAE with 2 billion and 914 million dollars, Iraq with 2 billion and 485 million dollars, Turkey with 2 billion and 251 million dollars, and Republic of Korea with 1 billion and 741 million dollars of Iranian non oil exports ranked first to fifth in this regard.
As for imports, China with 3 billion and 863 million dollars, UAE with 2 billion and 862 million dollars, Republic of Korea with 1 billion and 263 million dollars, Turkey with 1 billion and 77 million dollars and Germany with 938 million dollars allocated the highest share of Iran’s imports to themselves.
