Tehran, May 8, IRNA – The members of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) passed a bill against money laundering with 139 out of 226 votes on Tuesday.

The bill had 55 nays, and 2 parliamentarians abstained from voting for or against it. The introduction of the bill says that it is presented to Majlis regarding the fact that there are some problems in the law of fighting money-laundering such as lack of proportion between crime and punishment and lack of an operational procedure to confiscate the properties of the criminals.  Debates on the bill began on Sunday and was resumed on Tuesday.
