The Islamic Republic of Iran joined the WCO Istanbul Convention on temporary admission. The country’s Instrument of Accession to the Istanbul Convention was deposited with the WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Belgium . Istanbul Convention which is on temporary admission allows the free movement of goods across the borders and their temporary admission into a Customs territory with relief from duties and taxes. Under this convention the international business community enjoys noticeable simplification of customs formalities.
