Tehran, Jan 12, IRNA – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday the Joint Plan of Action reached between Iran and P5+1 in Geneva on November 24 will be implemented as of January 20.

Araqchi made the announcement in a press conference. He said that January 20 account for the first step of the Joint Plan of Action and that the two par­­ties will proceed with contacts to reach a comprehensive agreement in a short period of time to end the decade-long dispute.  Araqchi made it clear that Iran will continue with 20 per­cent uranium enrichment by the end of the day on January 19 and will suspend 20 percent en­richment on January 20 and the western govern­ments will honor their commitments about ea­sing the sanctions from January 20. Iran accepted to enrich uranium not beyond five percent. Araqchi said that he and deputy EU foreign policy chief Helga Schmid and US under- secretary of state Wendy Sherman reached the final agree­ment on implementing the joint plan of action on January 9-10 and agreed that the respective governments declare the date January 20 to im­plement the action plan.  According to the acti­on plan, the two parties will reciprocate the steps taken by one another in goodwill.
