The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first five month of the cur­rent Iranian year (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Mordad) stood at 46.7%, down from 47.5% in the month before.  In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 60.3 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services, followed by “clothing and shoes” with 48.5%. Food and beverages were 38.3% more expensive in the month of Mordad than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 197,0 indicating a 39.8% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
