The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first four month of the current Iranian year (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Tir) stood at 47.5%, down from 48.5% in the month before. In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 60.5 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services, followed by “health” with 49.0%. Food and beverages were 37.0% more expensive in the month of Tir than in the same month of the previous year. The Consumer Price Index was reported at 193,0 indicating a 39.4% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
