The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report on inflation in the first three month of the current Iranian year (started March 21). According to the latest data, the annualized inflation for the month under review (Khordad) stood at 48.5%, down from 49.1% in the month before. In terms of year-on-year CPI rise, “hotels and restaurants” with 62.5 saw the highest among 12 groups of goods and services, followed by “health” with 53.1%. Food and beverages were 42% more expensive in Khordad than in the same month of the previous year.
The Consumer Price Index was reported at 189.3, indicating a 42.6% rise compared to the same month of the year before.
