The Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) put the average inflation rate in the twelve-month pe­ri­od that ended on January 20, which marks the end of the tenth Iranian calendar month (dey) of the Iranian year 1401, at 46.3 percent, 1.3 percentage point more from the fi­gu­re for the twelve-month period that ended on the last day of the month before. 

The center put the country’s point-to-point inflation rate at 51.3 percent in the tenth month of this year; that is 2.8 percentage points more than in the month before. Point-to-Point means that families have paid an average of 51.3 percent more for purchasing the same package of commodities and services in that month, compared to the same month in the year be­fore. The point-to-point inflation in the major group of “food, be­ve­­­rages and tobacco” was 69.2 percent, 3.9 percentage points more in com­parison with the previous month.
