The Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) announced that the inflation rate in the twelve-month period ended on August 21, which marks the end of the fifth Iranian calendar month of Mordad stood at 25.8 percent. The inflation rate has fallen 0.6 percent in the mentioned time span from the last-months period (26.4%). The average annual inflation has been on a downtrend since the middle of last Iranian year (March 2019-20).
The overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) stood at 235.9 for the Iranian month to August 21, indicating a 3.5% rise compared with the month before and 30,4% compared with the similar month of the previous Iranian year.
