Iran-EU Trade from January to May 2024 at 1.9 Billion Euro

Eurostat: EU27-Iran foreign trade in January to May 2024 generated 1,943 million Euro (+4%). The 27 EU coun­tries ex­por­ted goods worth € 1,589 million Euro (+5%) to Iran and impor­ted goods worth 354 million Euro (-1%). Ger­­many was the most important EU trade partner of Iran, with a trade volume of 615 million Euro, followed by Italy (308 million Euro), the Ne­therlands (215 mil­li­on Euro) and Romania (152 million Euro).

The European Union (EU27) export of goods to Iran in the first five month of the year 2024 stood at 1,589 mil­lion Euro, an increase of 5% compared to January till May 2023. Accor­ding to the latest data by Eurostat, the sta­­tis­tical office of the European Union, 33% of the EU exports to Iran came from Germany that de­livered goods worth 521 million Euro, that was 13% more than in the first five month of the year 2023. Second (14%) was Italy with exports worth 222 million Euro (-4%) fol­lowed by the Netherlands (195 million Euro, -12%), Belgium (119 million Euro, +12%) and Romania (115 million Euro, +53%).

From January to May 2024 the 27 EU countries imported goods worth 354 million Euro from Iran (-1%). Most of the Ira­nian exports to the European Union (27%) went to Germany, which im­ported goods worth 94 million Euro from Iran (-16%), followed by Italy (86 million Euro, +31%) and Spain (37 million Euro, -6%).
