EU-Iran Foreign Trade from January to September nearly 15 Billion Euro

Italy was the most important EU- trade partner of Iran, with a trade volume of 3.5 billion Euro, followed by France (2.9 bn Euro) and Germany  (2.4 bn Euro).

From January to September 2017 the European Union (EU28) export of goods to Iran stood at € 7,530 mn, an increase of 34% compared with the first nine month in 2016.  According to the latest data by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, 28% of the EU-exports to Iran came from Germany, which delivered goods worth € 2,126 mn, that was 22% more than in the first nine month of the year 2016.  Second (17%) was Italy with exports worth € 1,255 mn (+18%), followed by France (€ 1,054 mn, +130%).

January to September 2017 the 28 EU countries imported goods worth  € 7.253 bn from Iran, (an increase of 107% compared with the first nine month of 2016).  With the removal of most of the sanctions at the end of January 2016, Iran again started the export of oil to Europe.  That is the reason for the high growth rates in Iranian exports to some EU countries.  Major Iranian exports to the European Union  go to Italy, which imported goods worth € 2,203 mn from Iran (+329%) and France (€ 1,878 mn, + 119%).  Germany holds 6th place with imports worth 283 million Euro (+27%).
